Please Note:

From 2011-2016, we had an inspiration blog featuring nurseries, baby showers, parties, and portraits that were submitted to us by photographers, designers, and parents. We no longer accept submissions or post new blog content, but we have left the archive here for those who have saved this content, or for new readers looking for inspiration.

Joy Themed Baby Shower with Sewing Details

This baby shower is so sweet and precious! Christin Willis of We Heart Photography sent us these lovely photos of this shower, held in honor of her baby niece Avonlea. Christin also helped plan and design it. Here are some details from Christin about how they brought it all together:

"This shower was inspired by Avonlea’s nursery, which is filled with baby doll dresses. Her nursery is a beautiful pink and teal-gray palate, so we decided to use that! All the decor was DIY by myself, my sister-in-law Ashley, and Avonlea's Gramma Sandy. We also wanted to have a theme of "JOY" throughout the shower since it is Avonlea's middle name...We decided to incorporate sewing elements like balls of yarn, buttons, bows, lace, and even embroidery hoops! We made a banner with different teal and pink fabrics and decorated them to spell Avonlea Joy. We also wanted the day to feel fresh, so we used a lot of sweet pink flowers. To keep guests busy during down time, we set up a little station where they could make Avonlea a headband or bow! We provided some pre-made elements so they could get inspiration! For favors, we wanted to keep with the "JOY" theme, so we gave guests vintage garden markers that said "JOY" on them. The sweet favors were custom-made by Monkeys Always Look. They were the perfect little reminder of Avonlea's "JOY" every day!"
