It was Katarina's own love of farm animals that inspired this festive farm themed birthday party, designed with love by mom Natalie of Katarina's Paperie. She started by creating paper goods that featured little silhouettes of animals donning party hats in a classic red, black and white color palette with cow prints and plaids. The party itself was hosted at Royal Crest Farm, which meant some real farm fun, including horse rides! Natalie played up the theme with hay bales, wire egg baskets, wicker accessories, red and white gingham fabric, and classic Ball mason jars. Simple arrangements of red and yellow gerber daisies felt right at home in this setting.
A major feature of the party was the dessert table, where Natalie created a "Pasture of Cupcakes" by adding dollhouse fencing and green shred to a cupcake stand. Some cow fondant toppers from Sweet Favors 08 transformed cupcakes into grazing cattle. More treats included farm animal crackers (sugar cookies cut into mini farm animals), hay cake bales (cake pops covered in yellow chocolate and dyed coconut), caramel apple hand pies, red velvet barn cookies, sheep's wool (cotton candy) and mud puddles (chocolate pudding). The mud puddle jars were topped with adorable paper pigs, complete with googly eyes and curly tails, which Natalie made herself. Cow print paper lanterns hung behind the table along with a pretty banner, while a gallery of photos from Katarina's first year hung along the front.
As favors, grown up guests brought home a jar of homemade barbeque sauce, while the kids received pig hand puppets, bubbles, cow bells, and barnyard rubber duckies all packaged in a hand painted, cow print bag. Phoebe Hannah captured all of the photos, and you can see more in the full gallery!
