Baptism Reception for Twin Boys in Light Blue, Silver, and White

Event designer Taleen Shirikian of Simple Little Details had a particularly special event to plan when it was time for her own twin boys' baptism and reception. For this special day, she created an airy event filled with baby's breath in a light blue, silver, and white palette. The silver details, from the foil stamped cards to metallic laser cut table numbers, added that touch of understated elegance to the beautiful decor. Taleen shared all of the design details with us, so be sure to read more about it at the bottom of this post, and of course visit the full gallery for more images by Heartbeats Photography.

Event Details from Taleen Shirikian:

"As an event planner I get the opportunity to create something special for my clients, but for the first time I got the chance to do it for my very own twin boys baptism. These little guys have brought so much joy and happiness into our family, so I wanted to create a special celebration.

"The color scheme of the baptism was light blue, silver, and white. Baby’s breath is a flower that I really wanted to incorporate throughout the party. I thought it was the perfect flower to represent a baby celebration. The place card table had a glass frame sign with hand calligraphy done by Sweet & Crafty. I white washed wooden boxes and filled them with baby’s breath to act as a base to hold the place cards. The place cards were silver foil stamped by Minted.

"As you walked into the room I wanted it to feel very light. The linens were a soft blue imprinted lace from La Tavola. There were 2 different centerpieces. The first was a lantern that I had white washed and was surround by a wreath of baby’s breath. The second centerpiece was a mercury glass pedestal that was filled with hydrangeas, roses, spray roses, and baby’s breath. The table numbers were metallic silver laser cut, loving this trend right now! Each place setting consisted of a silver rimmed charger, a unique bracket-like dinner plate, foil stamped menu, and a mini bouquet of baby’s breath that I had tied together with a soft blue ribbon.

"Since there are a lot of children in our family I wanted to create a table for them to feel extra special. I brought in these adorable mini white chivari chairs. Each child received a silver metallic box with their name on it, which consisted of little toys and trinkets for them to play with.

"For the dessert table I loved the idea of creating a baby’s breath garland and having it drape vintage French doors. I loved how the natural light in the background lit up the whole table. The cake was 3 tiers consisting of lace and silver metallic foil. I topped it with a 'blessed' laser cut. The chocolate covered oreos were almost too beautiful to eat. Each one consisted of a lace layer and then a cross or angel wings on top.

"Overall it was so special to be celebrating this milestone in our children's lives. It really is such an amazing thing to be a mom. I feel very blessed."
