With her daughter Harper turning two, Kristen Forgione of THE LifeStyled COMPANY wanted to celebrate in a fun and relaxed way. She styled this darling pink and yellow lemonade themed event at their home, with oodles of delicious sweet treats and several types of lemonade to suit any palate. Kristen did a great job describing the day, so read on for all the details, then of course check out all the photos in the full gallery, all captured by Deborah Brandon Photography!
"We party in this house. And since having our daughter, her birthday seems to commemorate our previous year together, including all of the cookie baking, arts & crafts, boo boos and boo hoos. Of course the party is to celebrate the coming year as well but we believe in the importance of entertaining our guests (young and old) while honoring our little princess and our family accomplishments. What a better way to celebrate then to toast with an ice cold glass of lemonade (including spiked for the adults)! The event was an "open house" style so we encouraged guests to come as you are, stay for a little or stay for a lot and make yourself at home! The kiddos enjoyed playing outside and officially hazing our new playroom, while the adults hit the sweets table!"
"When I set out to style this event, "sweet" bites seemed like the perfect compliment to fresh and tart homemade lemonade! I transformed our formal dining room into our very own lemonade stand complete with different varieties of lemonade and enough sweets to make your teeth rot! The muted colors for this shindig perfectly represent the sweet and tender little girl, who blessed our lives just two short years before. She is wise beyond her years, and sweeter than pie. She is lovingly called Harper Rose."
"Harper Rose would eat an entire cake if I let her, although not interested in smashing it, as each morsel shall be savored! Her cake, custom made by our friend The Cake Baketress kept things light and juvenile while acting as the centerpiece for our display."
"For the guests with a more savory palette, kettle corn in kraft paper bags and sparkling Italian soda was offered. In addition to cake and popcorn there were donuts, finger cookies, those amazing little wafer cookies, marshmallow ice cream cones and pink lemonade cake pops!"
"Enjoying a funky libation is considered a hobby in these parts, and the Jalapeno Prickly Pear lemonade may have been the most popular refreshment!"
"Some of my favorite decor moments from this celebration were the polka dotted kraft wrapping paper, the handmade banner, pink and white striped paper straws, old fashioned Marie Antoinette glasses, the mix of metallics in all of the glass and serving accents, and the life size lemon pendant hanging from above the table. My favorite moment of the day- our 40 pound Puggle, hoping and wishing, for just a few more inches on those hind legs to be able to reach the cookies!"
