Please Note:

From 2011-2016, we had an inspiration blog featuring nurseries, baby showers, parties, and portraits that were submitted to us by photographers, designers, and parents. We no longer accept submissions or post new blog content, but we have left the archive here for those who have saved this content, or for new readers looking for inspiration.

Gender Neutral Baby Shower in Yellow, Gray, and White

Photographer Naomi Chokr planned a sweet gender-neutral baby shower for her good friend, Alyssa Ball, who has decided to keep the sex of their baby a surprise. With the gender unknown, yellow, gray, and white made the perfect palette! Naomi coined it the “Baby Ball Shower” and found inspiration for the shower in Alyssa's last name. She brought the "baby Ball" idea into the shower design by using Ball mason jars. She stretched the idea further after finding an image on Pinterest and replicating it with their own twist: a sugar cookie that looked like Ball mason jar vase filled with more sugar cookie flowers. So cute!

Naomi's friend Leigh of The Short Giraffe Mini Confections and Catering created the cookies, along with the rest of the delicious and pretty sweets for the baby shower. Leigh made shortbread cookies that looked like bibs, and placed them atop the mason jars, with a hole for the straw. The rest of the treats included almond and lemon cake truffles, mini cupcakes topped with a white chocolate ball, and a cake adorned with a fun chevron pattern. A custom quilted banner from Katie Sue's Keepsakes hung above the dessert table, along with some festive yellow, gray, and white poms.
