Please Note:

From 2011-2016, we had an inspiration blog featuring nurseries, baby showers, parties, and portraits that were submitted to us by photographers, designers, and parents. We no longer accept submissions or post new blog content, but we have left the archive here for those who have saved this content, or for new readers looking for inspiration.

Gender Neutral Baby Shower in Aqua and Coral

With her big sister welcoming her first baby, not even a blizzard or more than a thousand miles could stop Laurel Anderson of Esla Events: Planning + Design from throwing her big sister Lindsey a beautiful shower. Laurel packed up twelve dessert platters, 150 cookies and brownies from Batter Bakery, 350 yards of ribbon, and one darling little baby hat and managed to make the last flight from San Francisco to Denver before all flights were cancelled due to the winter storm.

For the theme and style, Laurel went with a subtle vintage feel and a hint of a bird theme (an homage to the running joke in their family that Lindsey loves anything with a bird on it!). Lindsey and her husband are also keeping the gender a surprise, so a perfect and perhaps unexpected palette of aqua and coral mixed with browns, ivories and grays fit well with this gender neutral baby shower. Laurel also had the help of many sweet friends to bring the shower together, including Leah Kropuenske, Sandi Kropuenske, Linda Artman, and Celeste Habiger.
