Designing a room for a boy and girl twin pair can be a challenge, but mama Allison Wollenhaupt of Allison Marie Photography did such a great job for her babies Abram and Madeline. She kept the base a neutral gray, then added pops of green, pink, and orange. Her goal was to create a cheerful, whimsical space where she would like to spend time, too. Lots of DIY projects, including giving an antique dresser a makeover with yellow paint and creating the cutest handmade mobiles, made the room extra special. "Many of the pieces in the room are DIY. I was on bed rest from 26-35 weeks in my pregnancy, so I wasn't able to go shop for the room like I had hoped. Looking back, I love that I couldn't, because I really cherish all the handmade details.
"The series of 5 prints on the wall above the cribs is one of my favorite things about the room. A friend of mine threw me a wonderful baby shower, and her husband illustrated these little prints for the shower invitation. The minute I saw the invite, I knew I had to display it somehow in the nursery! The first print says “Classic Pairs aren’t born very often”, and then the next three are famous pairs – Jack & Jill, Raggedy Ann & Andy, Dick & Jane, and then the last one is Baby Boy & Baby Girl Wollenhaupt."
