When your name happens to be Crew, a nautical themed birthday party is only fitting! That's how this cute little boy celebrated his very first birthday, with all of the details planned by his creative mom Lisa. She opted for a rustic feel in the decor and used a classic deep blue with happy accents of bright sunny yellow. Read on below for all the details about the day from Lisa. Brandy J Photography captured all of the lovely photos, and you can see much more in the full gallery!
"Our silly little boy is named Crew, so naturally his very first birthday absolutely had to be a nautical theme. To put our own spin on the overly popular theme, I decided to include a bit of a rustic undertone. I draped as much as I could in burlap and rope. I used tree logs we had as dessert decor platters, pretzel appetizer displays, and outside decor. I decided to continue the rustic feel by using jute tied wooden flatware and searched far and wide to find bamboo wooden plates as well. I crafted pinwheels out of burlap and paper in a hand painted mason jar, folded striped paper into mini boats, and wrapped rope around candles for center pieces. We painted an antique card catalog as our mason jar glass display. A full buffet of yummy food, a large dessert table, and homemade sangria and limoncello for the adults and bubbles and a bounce house for the littles made for a perfect first birthday. The day was sunny and hot and I think our little Crew had a blast which was most important to us!"
