Winter Holiday Birthday Party in Purple and Green

We know Christmas has come and gone, but we are still loving this winter season, and we couldn't resist sharing Morgan's darling holiday birthday party! Morgan's mom, Sophie Spier of Amazing Days Events, wanted the party to be girly, but without pink, and fit in with the holiday season, but noy over-the-top Christmasy. Her solution was to steer clear of frilly pastels or a red and green theme and instead opted for a fresh purple and green palette. The holiday season was well represented with fun details like holiday cookies, Ugly Sweater Contest, snowflakes, and ornaments. They included a station for making popsicle stick photo frames and ornaments, and more fun was had in the cute photobooth.

Guests had their appetites well tended to with delicious homemade chili, jalapeno cheese cornbread mini-muffins homemade by the birthday girl's grandparents, and piping hot homemade apple cider with oranges, cloves and cinnamon. They also had their fill of cookies, thanks to a fun cookie exchange and contest. Guests brought two dozen cookies or desserts to share, then everyone voted on the winners for the Rock-o-choco-lotta Award (best chocolate cookie), Not-so-choco-holic Award (best non-chocolate cookie), and the Polly-Pinterest Award (for the prettiest and most pin-able recipe). Everything was perfectly captured by Paul & Jewel Studios, and you can see more over in the full gallery.

Thanks mm! We believe that every photographer should have a mastery of light, both artificial and natural. We needed to use on-camera speedlights for many of these photographs because it was dark. These photos were mostly done with a 24-100mm and a 100mm 2.8, Canon L lenses though we have quite a collection of additional lenses.
