With Josephine's first birthday only two days after Valentine's Day, her mom, photographer Sarah Frenzel, planned a "Sweethearts" theme birthday party for her that is absolutely darling. Rather than opt for your typical pink and red Valentine's Day palette, she instead chose a fresh and Spring inspired palette in aqua, coral, peach, and gray.
The centerpiece of the party decor was an amazing dessert and candy display designed by Candee by Sandee. Guests had their pick of fun candy choices like candy necklaces, lots of heart shaped candy, sour gummies, and of course, sweethearts! The table also included a pretty ruffle cake and mini cupcakes made by Christi Cakes, as well as white chocolate covered Rice Krispies treats and heart shaped shortbread cookies homemade by Sarah. Everything was beautifully presented on vintage tables and props from Found Vintage Rentals with apothecary jars and platters from Candee by Sandee. Signs and labels by Joie de Vie Designs tied it all together.
Some other sweet touches we love include a month by month banner of photos of Josephine, created by Sarah, hanging paper hearts created by Amber Cowell of Jesi Haack Design, and a photo booth that Josephine's dad Derek constructed, complete with props on sticks. He also crafted a large bean bag toss game and tic-tac-toe boards for the kids to play. Sarah set up a station for guests to write a special word or phrase on a heart shaped piece of paper to describe Josephine, which Sarah plans to use to create a word art print for her room. So sweet!
